About Bending River Energy Work & Coaching

Healing, growth, and change are all “inside jobs”. Regardless of how big or frightening the external obstacles may appear to be, the real work is inside of you.

This kind of work is a journey of discovery, integration, and learning how to receive the many unexpected gifts presented along the way.

Bending River Energy Work & Coaching involves:

  • Leveraging energy work & coaching tools, techniques, and assessments to clarify goals, values, and internal blockers
  • Teaching and practice of intuition, energetic principles, and other techniques to shift those energies
  • Learning methods for boosting your creativity and tapping into your intuition

The only real goal behind my work is for you to re-discover your true nature, and all of the power, creativity, and abundance that goes along with that nature.

As this happens, you naturally learn how to shift your energy, get unstuck, and back into the flow of your life’s purpose.

Why Is It Called Bending River Energy Work & Coaching?

Over the years, I have referred to it as energy balancing, spiritual healing, or coaching. Some time ago, I transitioned from a more hands-on to a hands-off approach. From there, my work became more verbal, with dialogue sometimes used to facilitate the shifts we’re looking for.

You can read more below about the training and influences that have contributed to this work. As the work has evolved and taken shape, it made sense to give it a name that both resonates with me deeply and reflects the nature of the practice. This is how Bending River came to be.

For me, the name brings to mind many healing related ideas:

  • Moving into the Age of Aquarius – and the emphasis on truth, freedom, and creativity that comes along with that shift.
  • Water is a well known conduit for emotional and spiritual information.
  • A bending river is a wonderful analogy for how our life energy moves through the physical terrain of time and space.
  • The energy work you do today will have many untold benefits downstream, just as the river bring life to the all of the lands and inhabitants within its reach.

Gently Down the Stream

Many spiritual practices embrace the notion that development is similar to climbing a mountain.

What is revealed if instead we consider an alternative view? What if the top of the mountain is where we start out in life? What if the real journey is one of trans-formative travel down the mountain –  through unexpected twists and turns — gaining empathy, wisdom, and compassion while giving life, light, and hope to others as we travel?

Then, perhaps, we reach our destination, returning to Source itself, an ocean of consciousness. If it is in our deeper evolution’s interests, then perhaps we get carried back to the top for another journey down the mountain.

Either way, I truly see life as a gift. My work is to practice that awareness every day, one way or another, filled with as much acceptance, gratitude, and appreciation as I can channel.

Influences, Education, & Training

While this way of being is coming very naturally to me now, this has not always been the case.

I was born and raised in a small, blue-collar, midwestern town. I’m grateful for this beginning because it has given me a grounded and pragmatic approach to my studies and work. While my curiosity may be endless, I always come back to the question: does it work?

Below are some of the relevant educational experiences and influences I bring to my practice.

Controlled Remote Viewing

I believe I first came across information about Controlled Remote Viewing (CRV) in the CIA FOIA release of Project Stargate documents. Sometime later, I watched this wonderful Jeffrey Mishlove interview Lori Williams, the founder of Intuitive Specialists and one of the top CRV teachers in the world: Becoming a Professional Remote Viewer with Lori Williams.

In late 2021, the timing finally lined up for me to train with Lori. So far, I have completed the Basic course, and for now (and the foreseeable future) – it’s all about practice, practice, practice!

As a Spring Forest Qigong practitioner, I embrace the goal of helping to bring health and wellness to as many people across the globe as possible and fulfilling Founder Master Chunyi Lin’s vision of “a healer in every home and a world without pain and suffering.”

Spring Forest Qigong has pursued this goal since 1995 with two main paths: Teaching people how to heal themselves, and teaching people how to heal others.

I am currently a Certified Practice Group Leader, having completed Practice Group Leader training, Spring Forest Qigong Level 1 for Health, and Spring Forest Qigong Level 2 Qigong for Healing.

Integrative Chakra Therapy®

I completed Integrative Chakra Therapy (formerly called Spiritual Healers Training) with Dr. Richard Jelusich in 2014. This training is comprised of 18 levels spread out over nearly two years of study and supervised practice.

Of all of the training I have had to date, working with Dr. Jelusich and my fellow healers in this class has had the most profound effects on my life and my work. Additionally, I have really found a great deal of alignment and resonance with one of Dr. Jelusich’s teachers, Dr. Hiroshi Motoyama, the founder of the California Institute for Human Science (among many, many other accomplishments). I will continue to study the works of each of these men for a long time to come.

More information is available at Dr. Jelusich’s website Light News – http://lightnews.org.

New Paradigm Multi-Dimensional Transformation

While I do not offer this directly as a service, the training and experience has had a big effect on my work and evolution. The training itself is very hard to put into words, so I’ll borrow from the NPMDT website:

The essence of New Paradigm Multi-Dimensional Transformation is love without conditions and respect for all life forms. We recognize the Divine energy that created the entire universe with all life forms and that we are an intrinsic part of that same Creation.

One’s experience with this training will depend on where they are at on their path, and what their instructor brings into the process. I feel fortunate to have trained with Terrie Curry while she was located in the Chicago area. I completed both the Basic Master and the 13D Master classes in 2012. Shamballa On!

Bachelor of Arts, Kent State

Even though it was oh so long ago, I am re-integrating all of my life’s experiences more and more as my path becomes clearer. I’m pleased to be recalling and weaving into my work a great many things I learned at Kent while majoring in Psychology and Philosophy. For example, I first encountered the channeled work called A Course in Miracles in a philosophy class. Another formative experiences was time spent working with the topic of Death and Dying in the experimental college.
